Joanna Wood

Statement

Painter/print-maker/sculptor

Joanna Wood’s main objective is to capture the dynamics and often the strength of power in her subject matter. This is most apparent is her ‘polo’ work where the determination in both horse and rider contains an almost febrile energy. Her work is very free and gestural and the resulting myriad of marks reflects the rhythms in the movement of the subject.
