Introduction

Jamie Shaw is a British Artist currently living and working in Harrow, North London.

Jamie's vivid works are far from unobtrusive; featuring bright colours; provocative, text-heavy compositions and bold outline images. Jamie's works are themed around ideas of glamour, excess, love, loss and the infalability of the human spirit.

"I think people relate to images, and I think that powerful, provocative pictures have a way of moving us. I create Art that's not only reflective of my personality, but which implies the struggles of the human experience - specifically relating to love and contemporary identity. I've always been engrossed in comic books, fashion and popular music and I think that in much the same way, people can relate to my paintings because they're somehow familiar. Every colour choice is reflective of an emotion bubbling under somewhere, every line of text an expression of some inner feeling. Every painted image or line is an attempt to reconstitute myself, or my experiences of people and the world, onto the canvas..."
